Are you looking for a quick, but complexive excursion to meet the most popular attractions of Kos in just 4 hours? Or you are on holiday in Bodrum and have a one-and-only chance to participate in an intercontinental excursion? Explore the small island of KOS – the birthplace of Hippocrates and modern medicine! The tour includes about a 1-hour walk around the city of Kos with stops at key points: Kos port, Freedom Square, Agora, Platan, Nerantzi Castle (external tour). Later on the tour, we will visit an olive oil factory, where you’ll taste local products made from liquid gold, which is olive oil – one of the most popular local products. Then we’ll drive through winding roads to the village of Zia, where you can enjoy the surroundings with a beautiful view, accompanied by frozen coffee, cold beer, or simply by shopping at the local bazaar. After our time in Zia, we’ll return to Kos town, where a meal will be waiting for you at a tavern. After the meal, free time will be provided.
For those who want to explore the most popular attractions of Kos (e.g., for those come to visit Kos from Turkey for 1 day).
The Tour starts in the morning (approx. 10:00) by the Achilleas Hotel in Kos Town.
We will embark on about a 60-minute walk around the city of Kos. You’ll hear many interesting facts about the city and the island – primarily about Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. You’ll learn about the most interesting and important historical events and see monuments from various periods of the past.
A 10-minute coach ride. Olive oil is undoubtedly the most important product of Mediterranean cuisine. It’s hard to imagine anything being served without it (except maybe tea or coffee :p). Here you will taste several types of olive oil and products made from olives.
Just below the highest peak on Kos – Dikeos, you’ll visit the tiny village of Zia, where among many shops with local products and souvenirs, you’ll find cooling ice creams, enjoy a cold beer, explore narrow streets, or simply warm up your camera to redness with stunning views. Return to the city about 30 minutes later.
You’ll visit a tavern where you’ll taste Greek cuisine. The individual menu selection will take place during the tour. We will say out good-byes here, too.
About 3 hours of free time for a self-guided walk around the city and return to the places where we met in the morning and talked to you about the island. There will be an opportunity to buy souvenirs, take photos, eat homemade ice cream, or simply relax and sunbathe on nearby sandy beaches. The decision is yours.
