Sometimes during holidays, you’d like to see as much as possible, but time doesn’t allow for it. That’s why we propose a one-day trip to 3 nearby islands – Plati, Pserimos, and Kalymnos. Especially recommended for those who love water activities, sun exposure, and the island charm of Greece.
You’ll board a pirate ship in Kos town and set sail on a beautiful journey. As soon as the anchor is lifted, you’ll feel the impending pirate adventure. Stretch out on the mattresses or find shelter in the shade. If you’re thirsty, remember that there’s a functioning bar on board (drinks paid for individually or as per the offer).
You’ll arrive at a tiny settlement on Pserimos island. This land is permanently inhabited by 80 people. The small fishing village offers several cafes, taverns, and shops with local olive oil, honey, or tourist products. The sandy beach invites you for sunbathing and swimming – be sure to take advantage!
Until recently (until 2018), only 2 people inhabited this island – a priest and his wife. Currently, there are no permanent residents. Occasionally, people caring for the tiny church and a herd of goats and sheep visit. The island is surrounded by warm waters that shimmer in hundreds of shades of blue, indigo, and turquoise. If you have snorkeling gear, be sure to use it around the local rocks – octopuses and other colorful inhabitants of these waters are waiting for you to take souvenir photos!
Kalymnos is the largest island in the archipelago of the same name. Pserimos and Plati administratively belong to this unit. Life thrives here all year round and as you can see – the town of Pothia is not overcrowded with tourists. Kalymnos in this regard is still a typical Greek island. Mass
tourism only affects the town of Kalymnos or bays such as Paliolimnos or Vathi. On the other hand, the remaining villages are a mecca for mountain hiking enthusiasts and climbers. Take a closer look at the unique architecture of the town, spot the Chrysocheria castle in the distance, and the old rock city of Chora, which until recently was the capital of the island. Visit one of the many natural sponge processing workshops – you can see how these wonderful sea creatures are prepared to make our lives better. If you’re hungry, we also include a meal at one of the local taverns. The ship’s crew will take you to the place where your chosen meal awaits.
You’ll return to Kos around 17:00. How was your day? A tan? Check! Body cooled by turquoise waters? Done! Dolphins photographed? Yes! For me – fantastic!!
